About Mom 411
Hi, I'm Melanie. I'm a mom of two and the founder of Mom 411.
I started Mom 411 because I know firsthand how overwhelming motherhood can feel, and how much lighter it gets when someone who's already been there hands you the shortcut.
Why I started Mom 411
I became a mom right after my twin sister. She had already figured out the registry, the gear, and all the early decisions. I joke that she was my "snowplow." She cleared the path before I walked it, and I leaned on her constantly.
Somewhere in those first months, I realized how many women don't have a sister or a friend who just went through it, and how much time, money, and worry that costs them. Mom 411 is my way of being that shortcut for you: the practical mom friend who can tell you what actually mattered, and why.
A little about me
I'm a working mom of two. My son was born at 39 weeks. My daughter arrived at 33 weeks after a pregnancy complicated by severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, and she spent just under two and a half weeks in the NICU. That experience shapes how I write about all of it, from what actually helped us in the hospital to what I would do differently next time.
I write from firsthand experience, the things I actually bought, tried, packed, and learned.Â
What Mom 411 is, and what it isn't
Mom 411 is a free platform for pregnancy, baby, toddler, and postpartum. My goal is simple: to be the first place you go when you find out you're pregnant, and the resource you keep coming back to through the toddler years.
Here's the part that matters most to me: I'm not a doctor, a nurse, or a parenting expert, and I will never pretend to be. I'm a mom who has been there. When a question needs real expertise, I point you to the experts who can answer it properly. What I do is cut through the noise, the million competing recommendations, and share what actually worked for us and why.

A quick note on health content
The content on Mom 411 is educational and based on my own experience. It's not medical advice, and it isn't a substitute for care from your doctor, your midwife, or your child's pediatrician. When in doubt, always ask your provider.
